Dharmesh Puna, recently retired from the PHC M1 squad, and Kate Segetin, (nee Crotty), who played for Chiswick before returning to New Zealand have both been selected for their respective NZ squads for the IMHA Masters World Cup.
The IMHA Masters World Cup is the field hockey world cup for master national teams (over age 35) from all over the world. The competition includes both men and women teams and is divided into the following categories: WOMEN +35,+40,+45,+50,+55, Other MEN +35,+40,+45,+50,+55. Each category (+35, +40, +45, +50, +55), both men and women, will have a winner, so that at the end of the tournament there will be10 world cup winners. The IMHA Masters World Cup takes place every 2 years and is promoted since 2012 by the International Master Hockey Association (IMHA) and recognised worldwide by the International Hockey Federation (FIH). The competition takes place between 27th July and 5th August 2018, and this year will be held at Club Esportiu Ègara, in Barcelona. We'd like to wish both players the best of luck making the final squads and in the competition, and who knows, their could be a club tour to Spain in the offing!
