L1s finish first half of season top of the league with another win (2-1) against Eastcote L1s!12/12/2015 With Mary missing we needed a new captain for the game....cue Jen Romano....The Ladies 1's turned up ready for the match, with a good majority of the team being sober...and then there was Bex Smith...who knows whether she was hung over or still drunk. The game started and Chiswick Ladies 1's stormed ahead with an early goal scored by Laura Patterson. Part way through the first half our new captain went down from a stick to the face - blood everywhere - luckily our lovely supporters were doctors/nurses and fixed her right up and she was back in the game! The game was tough, after a bit of a battle between both teams, Eastcote had a few chances to go ahead but Kylie Burnett was there to save these. However, before half time Eastcote scored the equaliser.
After a tough team talk, witnessed by the Ladies 6's, we knew what we needed to do. The second half was still as tough but after a great ball through to Bex Smith from Sarah Blackburn, Bex scored the winning goal (annoying how Bex is still amazing after a few hours sleep!) We did it...top of the league going into Christmas! Bring on the New Year!!! MOM - Kylie Burnett and Claire Hearnden for awesome work DOD - the hungover Bex Smith!

Despite going down 4-0 by the final whistle, the team played much better than last week. Our girls kept the opposition on their toes, and came close to scoring. Their positioning was much better than previous games, as was their marking. Despite the loss, they've come a long way and there were some great positives for the rest of the season.
Ladies 4s did what they said they’d do and got the three points against NPL. This puts us 7th in the Division 1 table - not bad for a newly promoted team. Aim after Christmas is to climb further - and finish top half. The L4s kept calm even when they conceded a shock goal in the first few minutes (perhaps slightly asleep?) But they worked it out to score three back. A great game with lots of attacking opportunities and some good quality passing and running. MoM to two-goals Jade Caton. DoD to Rachel Buist for approximately five different reasons - Rachel is really growing into this role nicely :) |
