The ladies 1's played away at Hampstead and Westminster on Saturday, looking to improve on a disappointing start to 2016.
They started well, with good amounts of possession and creating multiple turnovers in the midfield. A quick free hit taken by Claire Hearnden enabled Chiswick to break away and after some working of the ball in the circle by Harriet Stevenson Chiswick converted through Tee Barrack to go up 1-0. It stayed that way until half time. Both teams came out strongly after half time, but Hampstead and Westminster were the ones to convert their opportunities, taking it to 1-1. It was an evenly matched game, but unfortunately Hampstead and Westminster were the ones to get the winner, with an accurate penalty corner in the last 5 mins.
