After 2 losses in row Chiswick were feeling a bit down, and playing West Hampstead 3s was always going to be difficult. Possession for Chiswick was good though and after a lot of to-ing and fro-ing, Moose fed Ellie a pass which she tried with all her might not to kick. Obviously she did try hard enough, and Ellie hit a stonking strike from the edge of the D which beat the keeper and made a lovely noise on the back board. A little victory dance followed. At half time, the score was 1:0 to Chiswick. In the second half, the match could have gone either way - a West Hampstead penalty corner narrowly missed the goal (knocking drinks bottles over though), much to the relief of Chiswick and the spectators. There were several missed chances from both teams. The Moo dived to save a cross (that's my specialty) to West Hampstead's player on the post, and the Chiswick defence picked up the ball for a clearance. Nice to have Angela back doing her usual ninja moves too! Chiswick kept plugging away though and a flicked lob from Beth left everyone speechless as it sailed through the air, over the West Hampstead GK and into the back of the goal. DoD: Beth for leaving her stick at home, and having to go back to fetch it. MoM: Tabea for totally accessorizing in Chiswick blue. Special mention to Heather for being an awesome umps.
