It was the last match of the season for chiswick ladies 1s and they were keen to build upon their win from the previous weekend against Witney who were sitting one position higher than them in the league.
Coach Pras Puna decided to change the team talk up this week and handed it over to the team for their input. Danni Petticrew found this especially emotional. We left the changing rooms determined to have a positive match and end the season on a high. Alex Earnshaw was quick to convert Chiswick's first goal of the match with a straight strike at goal in from a penalty corner. The rest of the first half saw chiswick with plenty of opportunities however did not manage to convert. West Hampstead were first on the score board after half time and managed to equalise taking the score to 1-1. Chiswick left it til quite late in the game to regain the lead however their second goal came from some quick passing up the left wing from Sarah Blackburn to Harriet Stevenson who found Bex Smith high in the D to whip out her skills slotting it past West Hampstead's keeper. Using this momentum chiswick were keen to secure the win with some passing from Danni Petticrew to Rhi Buchannan and Bex Smith set up on the right who managed to get her second goal of the match leaving the score at 3-1 to chiswick. Another great result for Chiswick ladies 1s leaving us in third place in the league. MoM: Bex Smith - Gooooals DoD: Danni Petticrew - emotional reaction to team talk, issues with trackies and not knowing the score.
